The Austin Air HealthMate-200 Plus or HM-200+ air cleaner is designed to address the need of those with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS). The 6.5-pounds of activated carbon is impregnated with potassium iodide to absorb a very wide spectrum of chemicals. This chemical filtration is matched with a pre filter and a HEPA main filter that contains 700 square feet of medical grade HEPA.
Like the basic HealthMate-200 this is a little giant. It is the smallest of the high quality metal-frame air cleaners. the fan is mounted on isolation shocks so that at high speed, while the noise is apparent it is very tolerable because there are no rattles or creaks.

the Austin Air Healthmate 200 Plus, it is directed through the PERMAFILT pre
filter. This filter removes any large particles that may be present in the air
such as animal hair or dust. These air cleaners contain an effective 30-foot HEPA
filter in order to remove the particles from the air. The air also is passed
through a medium that contains a mixture of activated carbon and zeolite. The
6.5 pounds of mixture also contains potassium iodide. This mixture of compounds

present in the air that passes through the unit.
