The Austin Air HealthMate-200 or HM-200 is a terrific solution for bedrooms, children's rooms, laundry rooms and bathroom suites. This is best described as a "little giant" because it is the smallest of the metal constructed, high-quality air cleaners. As such you get the same solid performance as you have come to expect from the HealthMate-400 in a smaller package. The HM-200 is virtually silent on low and on high it makes a solid, non-rattling sound because the motor is mounted on shock absorbers that keep the vibrations from being transferred to the case.
The Austin Air HealthMate-200 air cleaners were designed to address the needs of allergy and asthma sufferers. The HEPA filter is backed by 6.5 pounds of activated carbon and zeolite mixture to absorb chemicals and odors that are not addresses by the HEPA element. While this filter system is appropriate for MCS sufferers we strongly recommend that the HM-200+ be considered in these applications.

healthy, an air cleaner such as the Austin Air Healthmate 200 is a perfect way to
keep the air clean and free of toxins. The Austin Air Healthmate 200 may be a
smaller model than other air cleaners but it is just as efficient and effective
as the other products made by Austin Air. This model of air cleaner is able to
eliminate allergens from the air such as pet dander and pollen. These types of
allergens are triggers for asthma sufferers and can cause allergic reactions.
When asthma sufferers are exposed to these types of allergens, they too can
experience unpleasant reactions and asthma attacks. The Austin Air Healthmate 200
is an effective air cleaner that is the perfect size for a smaller room such as
a baby’s room or a bathroom. It is a unit that was designed to be small in size
and does not take up a lot of space inside the room.
The air that is taken into Healthmate 200 air cleaners first goes through the PERMAFILT pre filter. This filter is able to absorb any large particles that may
be present. Once the larger particles are eliminated from the air, it is then
moved to the HEPA filter. The HEPA filter is 30 square feet in size and is able
to handle all of the airflow that is made by the unit. The HEPA filter is able
to remove 99.7%of all particles that are still present in the air that are 0.03
microns in size and larger. Since the air is first passed through the pre filter
and the larger particles are removed, the HEPA filter only has to deal with
smaller particles. This extends the life of the HEPA filter and prevents
particles buildup from forming.
Healthmate 200 air cleaners were designed to include foam-sealing gaskets on the
top and bottom. This air tight seal can prevent any air from slipping out of the
unit before it has been completely filtered by the filtering system. When air
leaks from air cleaners, it contaminates the already clean air and the
contamination is circulated through the room. This decreases the efficiency of
the unit and the cleanliness of the air. The Healthmate 200 can clean
a room that is up to 700 square feet in size. The unit can eliminate many
hazardous contaminants that are present in the air of residences.
