HealthMate HM-400 HEPA based air purifiers are great for combating allergy and asthma symptoms as well as attacking chemical problems with 15 pounds of activated carbon and zeolite adsorption media (the HM-200 contains 6 pounds of the media). While the basic air purifiers are wonderful the Plus versions have potassium iodide added to the media to assist in applications where people suffer from MSC or have odor control problems.
We review these air purifiers as one of out hardest working lines. While not as technically advanced as the IQAir or as stylish as the Blueair these product deliver a lot of performance per dollar spent and due to the 5-year main filter life provide a very low cost of ownership. The noise level on low and medium is very quiet. On high a white noise sound is produced but without vibrations.

HealthMate by Austin Air Cleaners
The HealthMate model by Austin Air are great air cleaners for your home
or your office. It is designed to remove multiple contaminants such as
foul odors, chemical vapors, dust, dander, and pollen. The
specifications of the HealthMate are as follows. It is 23 inches in
height, 14.5 x 14.5 inches in width, and it weighs only 45 pounds; light
enough to be moved around if need be. It has a perforated steel intake
filter deck with a 360 degree intake. The airflow output comes from the
upper deck and is directed to one side of the unit. It has an easy to
remove bottom plate of these air cleaners; for easy filter access, and is available in your
choice of black, white, or sandstone.
HealthMate air cleaners have a centrifugal fan with a three speed control switch.
The power rating on this unit is 120 volts and 1.3 amps. It consumes
about 115 watts of power at the highest setting. It has a permanent
split capacitor that is rated for long life duty with continuous high
RPM. The motor is mounted on shock absorbers and the HealthMate unit is
CSA, CE, and UL approved.
